Bad News, Good News

It has been a sad, sad weekend in the life of Me. My computer refuses to connect me to the internet and as a result I must send it far far away to be repaired. I feel empty, as though I've lost a dear dear friend. In fact, this is the final blog entry before I send it off to 'computer vacation.'

The good news is that I am posting a blog entry for you all!

I meant to post this before I left for vacation, but didn’t get a chance. I have an ‘interactive bulletin board’ in the hall of my school and every few weeks I will ask the students a different question. In December I asked what they wanted for Christmas. There are some very entertaining answers! I suspect that both teachers and students wrote things because if a student wrote that they want a 'baby' for Christmas, perhaps I should be worried....

Last weekend we went to Ususki to see stone buddhas carved into a mountain. Yes, it was just about as exciting as it sounds, but very nice to get out of Tsurusaki nonetheless! Actually, the best part was getting to use FREE WALKING STICKS! Fun times.

There were about 7 of us that went. Afterwards, we went to our aparment, to dinner, and then to karaoke! Oh yes, you who do not know the wonder of Japanese karaoke! It is worth a trip to Japan. It was one of the first outings since people got back from vacation so there were A LOT of people there. It was crazy. Then, we managed to shatter our previous record and fit FIVE extra people in our apartment! Yep, that's right. We had two in the kitchen, three in the living room, and Shawn and I in our bedroom. It was a feat. Love sleepovers.

Yes, you can even get tamborines at karaoke! Us being hams.

That's the update for now! Cheerio.

I sort of know how it feels to be cut off from the world of technology...you know how my computer works. :) In fact, I haven't been able to "comment" because when I went into comment mode my computer locked up every time. But alas, I think that may be fixed...just in time for you not to be able to blog for awhile...hmmpf. Everything you share is so exciting to us. You are living the life girl. I noticed on your question board many answers were "I want you" "your love" ??? Tell Shawny to step up and keep us connected while you (or rather your computer) are away.

Love you so much,
Terri
